Our short lead times and the ability to give our customers a full package of excellent workmanship and service at competitive prices.
Abutments
We can construct abutments if required and are equally happy to erect our bridges on abutments constructed by others.
- The steels used in our designs conform to BS 4360. Or most popular finish on steels is a Hot Dip Galvanized to BS 729. Metal spraying and all types of painted finish can also be supplied as required.
- All structural designs are based on BS 5400. We use 5kN/sq m loadings as standard, but can adapt to 3.5kN/sq m if this is more appropriate.
- The softwood used on our bridges complies with BS 4978 and it is preserved in accordance with BS 5589. The most popular and effective treatment is Tanalization.
- British Oak is more a more variable wood than most imported hardwoods. There are occasions when it does not meet the requirements of BS 4978 and it is then used in an application in which this is not relevant.
- All fixings are spun galvanized for extended life. All fixings on oak bridges are stainless steel.
- We offer a wide variety of designs in both wood and steel to suit most applications. These can also be supplied separately to be fitted onto existing bridges. For 'themed' projects we can design unique balustrades to reflect the theme.
- Timber decks can be supplied with an anti-slip coating as an optional extra.
